How to Create a WordPress Website with Elementor Pro

What’s the best way to get started with building your own website? With one of the many drag-and-drop page builders out there, like Elementor Pro? Let’s find out! In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the steps of creating a WordPress website from scratch using Elementor Pro, as well as offer some additional advice and resources if you want to do more with your site after it’s live.

Get your site ready in advance

To make sure you’re ready to start design as soon as your package has been delivered, it’s best to begin preparing before you order. To do so, determine your needs by making a list of what you want your site or landing page (more on that below) to do. It can be helpful here to consult others in your company and even do market research if you don’t already have an idea of how potential customers will use their site or landing page.

Getting started with Elementor Pro

In its most basic form, creating your own landing page means building a one-page website. That’s it. The great thing about Elementor is that you can easily customize and create anything you want. If you want to create more than one page, no problem! There are two different ways of achieving multiple pages

Build your home page first

When using Elementor, you should start your home page design first. The reason for that is because most of your visitors will land on your home page first, so it’s important that you have an elegant and engaging design. After you’ve created a few templates for your home page, create another one for pages such as about us and contact us. And always remember – less is more!

Try out different styles

As you start building your new website, you’ll want to experiment with different styles and try different color combinations. It can be fun to have a clear plan, but don’t let that get in your way; instead, focus on visualizing what you want your website to look like in terms of color, layout and design elements. Don’t be afraid to change or delete things along the way.

Add text and widgets

If you have some experience with design, it’s easy to get started on your website or landing page. Use Elementor’s intuitive drag-and-drop interface, and build out your site by adding text blocks, images, headings, and more. If you aren’t too familiar with design or coding websites but would still like to start a business online or promote an idea, don’t worry! You can still use Elementor—you just need some help getting started.

Format different widget sizes (320px, 240px, etc.)

If you want to create different-sized widget areas on your page, it’s super easy in Elementor. Simply click on one widget and grab and drag its edge or center point outwards. As you do so, an arrow will appear which indicates how many pixels (px) are being used for that particular size of widget. To resize another section, simply repeat that process again. In a matter of seconds, you can drastically change the overall size of your page! It’s never been easier!
