How to Create a Modern Landing Page in WordPress with Elementor Pro
My name is Sam and I’m the creator of Boxythemes and DTHML, two popular themes on ThemeForest. Today I’m going to show you how to create a modern landing page in WordPress using Elementor Pro. We’ll go over the 3 things that you should focus on when creating your own landing page, how to use Elementor Pro to create it, and then how to optimize your page so that it looks great in any browser size or device! First, let’s get started by looking at those 3 main things.
Step #1 — Choose Theme and Set-Up
First, you’ll want to set up your theme. Here’s a quick rundown of how to do that. Now that you have your framework, let’s add some design elements. For those who haven’t used Elementor before, here are some great articles on how it works: The Elements of an Effective Landing Page Design and How To Use Google Fonts in Your Landing Pages. You can also watch a webinar we did with Jon Loomer where he walks through his landing page designs step-by-step: Watch here (goes over CSS tricks and advanced options). With Elementor Pro, you can build any kind of landing page design you need — one-page or multi-page. No templates required.
Step #2 — Choose Domain Name and Get Hosting
A domain name is simply an address that people will use to find your website. If you don’t have one, it’s okay — neither did Facebook or Twitter when they first started out. But once you do have one, it’s important that it not only be easily rememberable and reflect your business’ name and mission, but also be easy for potential customers to find via search engines. A good place to start is at Namecheap , where you can buy domains for as little as $1 per year (yes — $1!). Once you get a domain name, register it by signing up for hosting at Bluehost . For just $2.95 per month, they offer reliable web hosting and 24/7 customer support!
Step #3 — Install Elementor Pro
There are many page builders that you can use on WordPress, but we recommend using Elementor Pro if you’re not quite ready for something like Visual Composer. It’s easy to use, fast and has all of the features that you’ll need for any type of landing page. Plus, it works great with Thrive Architect. If you’ve never used Elementor before, be sure to check out our guide on how to set up your first page using their drag-and-drop builder. We’ll assume that you have it installed and know how to use it for your purposes here today so let’s dive right into creating your elements (you’ll also find some quick instructions below as well).
Step #5 — Set Up Social Media Profiles
If you’re just getting started, it can be overwhelming knowing where to start on social media. Your first step is creating and populating your profiles — which shouldn’t take too long — but then you’ll want to look into scheduling and publishing tools so that you can automate posts and make sure you always have fresh content on your social profiles. Step #6 — Creating the Layout
Before you start creating and uploading content to your new landing page, it’s important that you have an idea of how everything will be laid out. This can be done with any design program — we’ll walk through using Adobe Photoshop. Using your current logo, add it as a graphic on your landing page template; we recommend keeping images limited (especially large ones) to ensure your site loads quickly. An easy way to ensure that text is easy for viewers to read is by adding a rule around different areas of text on your page, like so: Now that you have at least an idea of what different parts of your website will look like and where they will go, it’s time to create and upload these elements onto WordPress.
Step #4 — Download and Upload Images
In order for your page to look as professional as possible, it is important that you have quality images. The better your images are, and/or more relevant they are to your subject matter, chances are that you will attract more visitors and clients. Some other important reasons why it is crucial for you upload good quality images on your landing page include: usability of your site – if people can’t use your site properly or find what they’re looking for easily then they’ll leave; social sharing – if someone loves what they see on your site then there’s a chance that they’ll share it with their friends and family; higher search engine rankings – uploading high-quality images helps ensure better search engine optimization.
Step #8 — Customizing Header And Footer Elements
Elementor Pro is primarily a drag-and-drop page builder, but you can customize header and footer elements using code. This can come in handy if you want to include site-wide or page-specific elements like a copyright or disclaimer notice. Because your landing page needs its own custom headers and footers (to provide legal info, branding, etc.), it’s time to get out your code editor! Here’s how
Step #7 — Adding Sections, Headlines, Subheadlines, Text Block and Call To Action Button
Add sections and content on your landing page. You can do that by adding headline, subheadline, text block and call to action button. Adding sections and content will help you to differentiate each section from other. To know how you can add sections and content go below
